Live and work in the Eastern Sierras in the pine trees, lakes and streams of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Jobs include day wages, meals and bunkhouse style lodging while working with horses, mules and guests.

 

This job does require hard work and long hours (10 to 12 hours per day).

 

Positions available:

 

DAY RIDE WRANGLER

• Saddle & bridle livestock

• Care & feeding of livestock

• Guide guests on Day Rides

• Other duties as requested

 

PACKER

• Saddle & bridle livestock

• Saddle & pack livestock

• Set up and break down camps

• Basic shoeing knowledge

• Interact with guests

• Share outdoor knowledge

• Must have good horsemanship and riding ability

• Other duties as requested

 

PACK STATION COOK

• Prepare meals for crew & some guests (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

• Plan and produce homestyle menus

• Help back country cook prepare for trips

• Other duties as requested

 

BACK COUNTRY COOK

• Cook in wilderness conditions - campfire and camp stove

• Set up and organize an outdoor camp & kitchen

• Organize & pack up backcountry gear & food

• Be able to plan & prepare back country meals

• Act as camp host/hostess

• Share outdoor knowledge

• Be a competent horseman

• Other duties as requested

 

FARRIER

• Must have horse & mule shoeing knowledge

• Other duties as requested
